Passat

Solving the riddle will have to wait till friday, I’m afraid.

But in the meantime have some fotos of the impressive four-masted sailingship „Passat“ built 1911 in Hamburg and one of the famous „Flying P-Liners“ of the shipowners F. Laeisz, shipping grain, salpeter and other goods around Cape Horn and between the South Americas and Australia to Europe up to the Second Great War.

It’s now a maritime museum at Priwall, Lübeck-Travemünde, and houses a fine exhibition showing the work and hardship of seamen at the end of the age of the great sailing ships.
